Standards of Performance

When Bill Walsh came to the San Francisco 49ers, they were one of the worst teams in the NFL. Instead of focusing on their losing record, he instilled what came to be known as standards of performance:

Shirts and ties
No hazing
Addressing everyone with respect and by their first nam
e.

These "standards of performance" formed the basis for his book The Score Takes Care of Itself.

At the Unmistakable Creative, we have our own standards of performance.

Every interview is one hour: no exceptions (even for Oprah). I never say yes to people who can't give me an hour

If I don't like it, I scrap it, sometimes even in the middle of the interview

We air every Monday and Wednesday. If we don't, you should assume I got hit by a bus

Standards of performance are simple but not easy. They take commitment and consistency. What are yours?
