  • Mem Tutorial: How to Take Smart Notes

Most people take notes the wrong way. They copy and paste quotes from the books they read, but don’t do anything else. But it’s far more useful to rewrite them in your own words.

When you rewrite pieces of text from the books you read or articles you come across online in your own words, you understand and remember the information.

You’re also stimulating your brain to come up with new ideas. By rewriting the text in your own words, you’re forcing yourself to think about the information in a different way. You’re not just copying and pasting someone else’s work; you’re interpreting it and making it your own. This can help you come up with new ideas and connections that you wouldn’t have otherwise made.

Smart notes enable you to produce a comprehensive record of the content you want to remember .
